As a DJ, I tend to fill the title of “influencer” pretty often. Whether it’s introducing people to new music on the dance floor or setting trends in the streets, it’s always dope being tapped by brands looking to move culture forward. This past summer, I was honored to represent Miller Lite as a Philly brand ambassador for their #KickbackSeries featuring some of the most popular touring events in the country (Grits & Biscuits, The Do-Over, Everyday People & Must Love Beards). Each event stopped through Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, and Charlotte, presenting it’s own vibe that tied into the “Kickback Lifestyle” theme. Having the pleasure of DJing 3/4 of these events (missed out on Grits & Biscuits) gave me the opportunity to play alongside some amazing peers and mentors who I look up to, and the overall experience really gave me some inspiration for things moving forward with Friends & Fam.
HUGE shout out to The Do-Over for throwing their FIRST Philly edition at Belmont Plateau. (“A place called The Plateau is where everybody go!”) Big, BIG ups to DJ Moma for inviting me to play Everyday People at Stratus. (It was such an amazing party, not even the rain could stop us!) The highlight for me, though, was headlining to a sold-out crowd at TLA for Must Love Beards. The venue was at capacity by 11pm with a line that stretched all the way to the end of the block. Special shout out to my bro Cory Townes for holding down hosting duties. The energy was so live that I had to share it with y’all!
So, here’s a live recording from my Must Love Beards set. It’s definitely one of my most turnt mixes of 2016. Enjoy!
